My last day of my spring day was Friday. I decided to do to the city to the Guggenheim museum. Last time I was there was a couple of years ago when my mom was visiting us. I did a little bit of research on line and I found out there was a photography exhibit that I wanted to see. The architecture of the Guggenheim is quite amazing, very modern and not by chance as many of the artists there belong to that era. I went to see the photography exhibit right away . I enjoyed seeing the different media photographers used to print out images but other than that the exhibit didn't blow me away.
There was also a Kandinsky exhibit at the museum. It was the last few days so that gallery seemed quite crowded. I love reading and understanding what the artists background is. I found out this Russian artist lived through WWI. Now looking at his painting you would never guess it. He used bright and lively colors. In my opinion to cover the pain and trauma of the war. I was so touched by that fact. Is it human nature to paint and portray beauty when we can't see it anymore?
I came home and I announced to my husband I want to live in Kandinsky's world. Uh? he asked, very confused . The truth is there is so much pain and injustice, disappointments, bad breakups but there's also so many people putting , or trying to put bright colors into their lives and I want to be like them...so may names come to my mind right now but I won't mention them. So this post is dedicated to all of us Kandinsky's out there trying to make reality a little better with little sparkles of light and color. We don't live in a bubble but sometimes we wish we could.
I leave you with images of my visit to the Guggenheim museum and my walk trough Central Park.
